Eric Banas is a mixed media artist living in Joshua Tree, California.
Self-taught, his distinct outlook on design, attention to detail, and eye for creative images, are lifelong contributors to his motivation.
Love for environment and natural surroundings forge the integrity of his use of reclaimed resources.
Eric enjoys the creative challenge of finding a new expression for recycled materials in his welded metal sculpting, woodworking, and painting.
Susan Kearns ~ Expresionist Landscapes
Susan Kearns’ work focuses on portraits and animals of the desert; she strives to capture the emotional intensity of her subjects using painterly strokes combined with surface texture and manipulation. “Working alone in my primitive, open-air desert studio, I try to tap into the energy of places I’ve visited and people I’ve met to capture their stories,” Kearns said. “A session often ends up in laughter or tears.”

Dominique Bass-Terpstra ~ Plein Air Painting
Dominique Bass-Terpstra is a traveling artist who’s paintings are inspired by the immense diversity of people and cultures encountered as she makes her way all over the world. Her practice of plein air painting escalated during studies abroad in Dingle Ireland, where she fell in love with manipulating the landscape. She achieved her B.F.A in painting from Plattsburgh State University of New York.
One of Dominique’s many adventures included living in Yellowstone National Park for six months. After she drove from Yellowstone to all four corners of the country she discovered the peaceful energy of Joshua Tree National Park. In 2018 she made the move to live and work full time in Joshua Tree.

Eric Saks ~ Plein Air/Photo Transfer on Wood
Eric Saks is a multi-media artist working in multiple formats of painting, photography and video.
His award winning videos Creosote (1996) Straight Talk About Deserts (1993) began his fervent exploration of the desert.
He is the recipient of a John Simon Guggenheim Fellowship and grants from the National Endowment for the Arts and other regional arts awards.
